Managerial Summary

Considering that in the modern business age, organisations need to be proactive, adaptive and even alter their identities in response to competition and environmental demands (Bouchikhi and Kimberly 2007; Kreiner et al. 2015), managing change is becoming an increasingly important skill. Related to M&As , a challenge that companies often face is how to make post-M&A integration more efficient and successful. Here we suggest one potential way of engaging employees in the change and in the new entity. The findings may be useful not only in cases of M&As , but in organisational changes in general. We further believe that the role of values in the process and their application will provide interesting insights for practitioners.
